Cellulite and Skin Tightening Treatments

Until now, the only options for body reshaping involved surgical procedures. Liposuction, tummy tucks and thigh and buttocks lifts modify the body but at a high price. Invasive, accompanied by anesthesia, risk and long recovery periods, surgery has widely varying results. We are pleased to be among the first clinic to include the Accent device for cellulite, skin tightening and body re-shaping in our clinic. This state-of-the-art Radio-Frequency machine has combined technology to help break down fat deposits in legs, buttocks, stomach and facial areas while tightening the skin and inducing collagen production.

Cellulite describes dimpling of skin, caused by the protrusion of subcutaneous fat into the dermis creating an undulating dermal-subcutaneous fat junction adipose tissue. Between 85% and 98% of females display some degree of cellulite. Cellulite is not related to being overweight; average and underweight people also get cellulite. Liposuction, which extracts fat from under the skin, is not effective for cellulite reduction.

Passed by Health Canada, and superior to the Thermage, the Accent® Radio Frequency treatments can create dramatic changes without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anesthetics. This machine provides patient comfort with continuous contact cooling and epidermal protection for any skin type. This painless procedure has no downtime for the patient.

Accent employs three mechanisms to improve your body's shape. It applies deep dermal heating to (1) shrink the fat bundles (2) to bring about new collagen formation and (3) remodel skin and promote tightening.

This stimulation enhances blood circulation deep in the adipose tissue to help drain trapped fatty deposits and toxins. A natural process that already occurs but may not reach all areas.

This procedure is passed by Health Canada and is superior to Thermage, as the Accent Radio Frequency treatments have been shown to create dramatic changes without the need for invasive surgery or topical anesthetics.

Where can Accent’s RF treatment be used?
Accent can be used to improve contours anywhere on the body. It is frequently performed to give the abdomen a flatter and smoother profile, to slim the hips and thighs and firm the upper arms.

Is Accent safe?
Incorporating advanced safety precautions that cool your skin to prevent discomfort, Accent’s RF is risk free when performed by a trained Accent’s clinician. Numerous patients have undergone Accent treatment without any adverse effects.

Does it hurt?
While pain tolerance is individual, most people tolerate Accent treatment well, and have little or no discomfort. Patients often describe the sensation as a “warm massage”.

During Accent treatment, your clinician will precisely heat skin’s inner layer (dermis), while its outer layer (epidermis) is continually cooled. Depending on the size of the treated area, treatment may take from 15 to 45 minutes. This heating action causes the deep structures under your skin to tighten right away and results are visible shortly after treatment.

Following treatment, you can immediately resume all routine activities. Over time, the heating action will stimulate collagen production, giving the skin a fresh, rejuvenated appearance. Generally, no more than four to six treatments at two-week intervals are required. While RF has shown to be safe, effective and long lasting, maintenance treatment may extend and improve results.

Accent radiofrequency can help reduce the unsightly bulges that make you uncomfortable in your clothes. Gently reshaping your body, Accent non-invasively improves your body’s contours, even reducing excess inches. The procedure gives you a sculpted look without incisions, pain or downtime.
