Mink Lashes

FAQ about Eyelash Extensions

  • What are eyelash extensions?
  • Eyelash extensions use a fake lash which is adhered to your natural lashes to enhance the length, shape, and thickness. Each lash is applied one at a time using a safe adhesive glue.
  • What type of lashes are used?
  • At Linda Marie’s we use synthetic mink and silk lashes which have a very natural look and are extremely light. The lightness of the lashes help provide longevity and are more comfortable for our clients over the typical lash. Mink or silk lashes are considered superior quality and have a more comfortable feel to them.
  • Why do eyelash extensions over false eyelashes?
  • False eyelashes are the store bought version that you apply every day and need to be taken off each night. They can be difficult to put on and can fall off during the day. Lash extensions are a more permanent solution that will fall out over time as your natural lashes grow. Both lash types can provide a full look that make your eyes pop.
  • Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?
  • No. Eyelash extensions are adhered to your natural eyelash and will fall out as the natural lash undergoes its hair growth cycle. The lashes are light and safe for your eyelashes and do not damage your natural eyelashes as long as you avoid rubbing or pulling out the lashes unnaturally.
  • How long do eyelash extensions last?
  • This depends on your eyelash hair growth cycle. Overtime your natural eyelashes will undergo a hair growth cycle which means they will fall out and grow back continuously. This process takes anywhere for 2 to 6 weeks. As your natural eyelash which has the adhered fake eyelash falls out, the fake eyelash will fall out too. Over time the extensions will fall out and the eyelashes will look thinner and less full. We recommend booking a filler appointment before this happens.
  • Why are there two appointment types, a ‘full” and a “filll”?
  • A full eyelash extension happens when there are no lash extensions on your natural lashes. The esthetician will need to apply a mink lash to each individual lash to give you the full look. A fill is done after you have already had a full appointment done. This occurs after some of the eyelashes have fallen out as your hair undergoes its natural hair growth cycle. In the fill appointment some of the eyelashes already have extensions and therefore there is less work that the esthetician needs to do. Generally, a full set would be an hour compared to a fill which is half hour to do.
  • How are the eyelashes removed?
  • We have a special glue remover that we use in combination with a micro brush to ensure we remove the lash without damaging your natural eyelashes.
  • Can you put mascara on eyelash extensions?
  • We do not advise to put mascara on the eyelash extensions as it can decrease the effectiveness of the adhesive glue. The eyelash extensions are dark and full, giving you the look that the mascara is trying to achieve.
  • How long can the lashes be?
  • At Linda Marie’s we have a variety of lengths and curves to ensure we are meeting our client needs. If you are looking for a dramatic look or a more natural look or something in-between, we have the lash to suit your needs.
